How we are funded

PataskalaOH.com is free for residents. It is paid for by local and regional businesses through directory placement, sponsorships, promoted content, newsletter advertising and video or livestream sponsorship.

How paid placement is labelled

Anything paid for carries a label where it appears. The labels we use are:

• Sponsored — the placement was paid for.
• Featured Partner — the business holds a paid directory package.
• Advertisement — a display placement supplied by an advertiser.
• Promoted — a deal or post given paid prominence.
• Business Post — written by a business, not by us.

What we will not do

• Present paid placement as an independent editorial recommendation.
• Let an advertiser approve, edit or kill a news story about them.
• Remove a legitimate community post because an advertiser asked us to.
• Sell a “best of” or ranking position and present it as a genuine assessment.

Editorial independence

Advertising and editorial are separate. A business buying a package gets placement, not coverage. If we write about an advertiser, the relationship is disclosed in the piece.

Deals and offers

Offers listed here are provided by the business running them. PataskalaOH.com does not set the terms, honour the offer, or take a cut of the transaction. If a business does not honour a listed deal, tell us and we will take it up with them.
